About Us

Akshar "Shar"

Akshar grew up coming to the art rooms after school to find his sisters. The same teachers his sisters had when he was in elementary became his high school art teachers. Those same Florida High Art teachers lead him to win the Best and Brightest in Art for the Class of 2016. He graduated from FSU in 2020 with a BS in Biology with Marine Honors. He is currently completing a Early Career Artist Residency at the Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Krishna

Krishna practiced ceramics in high school and continued practicing at the FSU Art Center. She learned to throw her last year of high school and continued learning at LeMoyne and the FSU Art Center. She has two degrees from FSU, a BS in Chemistry and an MS in STEM Teaching. She is currently a Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Tallahassee Community College. She also teaches pottery locally for the City of Tallahassee at Lafayette Park.

The Creation of Baum Road Studios

Baum Road Studios was created in Oct 2020 after we made too many pieces the first few months of the Covid-19 lockdown. Our mom wanted us out of her garage cabinets and told us to start selling everything we made instead of hoarding it. So we started selling in fall of 2020 and haven't stopped. Today we participate in large art show and small local events. Please check out our upcoming schedule to find us.

Our Barn Studio

Today their studio is fully equipped with two running kilns, a slab roller, extruder, and wheels. Akshar does the majority of the hand-building and Krishna throws on the wheel. We are able to teach various individual and group classes/events in our space so please reach out to set something up!
